Hmmm no ive never heard that, and i think Boony is a bit of a tosser really, hes a shit selecter.
And ive got no idea how many hours ahead of you poms we are.
Did you not see Stauss’ recent comment that the current test series against SA was like the Ashes? Ever the diplomat he was really saying that the SA series is more exciting than playing your team. It’s the decider between teams 1 and 2 for the number 1 spot. David Boon once said that playing against Eng was cheap and unfulfilling. Strauss was saying the same but not in the tyical loud and brash Aussie way. How many hours ahead of Eng are you anyway?
We Poms as you like to call us were on the receiving end for 16 years. You lot don’t know how to win graciously. I remember Warne dancing around in 1997 like a kid who had just won a game of conkers. Glenn McGrath another loud mouth. Cook, Strauss, Trott, Bell and so on just let the cricket do the talking. We don’t come out with garbage like we will win 5-0 every series. Just nice that we for once are rubbing your noses in it. I will worry in 5 years. Enjoy the moment I say

And Lyon did 5/35 on his maiden test, pattinson did just a little less.
In all honesty Pattinson has had what a good test against the “mighty” NZ and I think one against SA. He bowled crap here. Just as I predicted. First time I had seen this new so-called fast bowling sensation. Fast yes but wayward just like Mitchell Johnson. You can keep Pattinson. Siddle and Hilfenhaus are much better as is Lyon.

And Pattinson is just one team member, as apose to your 5 who have either been Saffas or indians, what ever happened to panesar by the way?, did he get his big hands stuck in the luggage compartment on the plane ride home??
Oh did we win 4-0. Would have been 5 if not for weather. Pattinson was no better in the recent ODI’s than when his older brother played for us for one test in 2008. Maybe the Aussies were told to bowl crap. To lull Eng into a false sense of security before next year. Don’t think so!!! Going back to what you said about all your players being from Oz!! Pattinson does not not have an ounce of Aussie blood in him. does he, even though he was born there??!!! (Both English parents).
Well ironically Strauss has just hit 121n.o against WI at Lords today. Pietersen’s Mum and Prior’s Dad are English anyway so they could have played for either team anyway. Strauss moved here when he was six. Not sure about Trott. Don’t recall Aus worrying when the Pakistani Khawaja played played some tests for them. Don’t think any Aussie would have complained if he had scored a century. He moved to Aus when he was a boy just like some of ours.
Can’t wait. Strauss must go now. And I think that Watson does not convert enough fifties into hundreds. Not sure about Ed Cowan neither. Pattinson and Cummings concern me. (look bloody good). Looks like your Wade could be our Prior. Conditions are different here as you know. Think it will be about whether your inexperienced bowlers and batsman adapt or not to the swinging ball.

Just think that alot of it is about the right attitude. There are a very small few who are just born with talent like Warne, McGrath, Botham,. Most have to graft to improve. England finally smelt the coffee and became competitive. I could be well wrong but I just felt that Aus got a bit complacent and assumed for a while that the next Warne, Gilchrist, Ponting, McGrath would just appear.
Exactly. You had quality players and I admit that but you would think that ours were crap simply because you have a problem with giving any kind of praise to England at all. Well I know what I was watching when we beat India 4.0 last summer. (Go to results on cricinfo). All swings and roundabouts. We don’t need to be jealous. We were crap in 1999, bottom of the pile. But we did thrash you by 3 innings victories in your own backyard, you struggled to take 10 wickets let alone 20. Yet still a fluke. Nah. Let the cricket do the talking now. If you get the Ashes back next year come back and take the mick then……
