BACK IN THE RUNS SOON
The English top order batsman, Jonathan Trott, has said that he is hitting the ball well and he will be back amongst the runs pretty soon.
Trott hasn’t been that impressive in the ongoing Ashes series so far. He has managed to score just 106 runs in the first two test matches at a modest average of 26.50. In a couple of innings, Trott hasn’t even managed to open his account.
When asked about his average outing in the first couple of test matches, Trott said, “I am not bothered about it. I know that I am in good nick. You can feel that as a batsman.” The latest cricket betting odds reckon he will start hitting over 50 in his next innings.
“It’s just that I haven’t been able to convert the good starts into big ones. I have played a couple of poor shots and have got myself out. It’s something which is frustrating, but, I need to put those dismissals behind me and just move on. In the remaining matches, if I get good starts, hopefully, I will be able to capitalize on them.”
Trott has been very consistent for England in all formats of the game since making his debut in August 2009.
He is one of the very few players in the world who is averaging more than 40 in both the test matches and the ODIs. He has featured for England in 45 test matches so far in which he has scored 3557 runs at an average of 48.72. He has scored 9 hundreds and 17 half centuries in test cricket.
Trott’s numbers in the ODIs are even more astonishing. He has played 65 ODIs so far in which he has scored 2791 runs at an average of 52.66. He has had 4 hundreds and 22 fifties under his belt in ODIs.
